camp was a success! I was so glad to finally meet the people i’ll be spending the next year with. camp was full of so many interesting things, so instead of typing a book i’ll share four of my favorite moments.

  • The squad.  Being around so many people that are down to drop everything and go into the unknown to share the gospel was motivating. The energy was high and the diversity was beautiful. (Psalm 139:13) “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mothers womb.” God created every person in a special way that glorifies him, and it was evident with this group of people.

  • Bucket showers. I might be alone on this one. shower time was limited and when we were able to shower it was in a five gallon bucket and had one temp choice (cold!) Pretty sure the squad knew when I was showering because when the water hit my skin it had a reaction with my mouth.

  • Scenarios. we were put in situations to give us an idea of what being in the field could look like. My favorite was the airport loosing our luggage scenario. half of the squads packs were taken for the night and we had to make do with what we had. I had my pack so I shared my stuff with a Friend.

  • The food. The food situation was set up to look like what we could be eating in other countries. some days you might be eating  peanut butter sandwiches, Others you may be eating crickets and a fermented egg. no one really liked the egg, I thought it was pretty good.

Well, those are my favorite moments. looking forward to regrouping with my people in two months and have an amazing year loving God and loving people.
